JRR is for hire throughout the year to perform for your church, business, organization, or private event. For smaller venues, consider the JRR Ensemble on 3 octaves (versus 6), less musicians, less bells, less space, still a great show! Whatever your needs, we do our best to accomodate. Contact us for rates. Travel expenses may apply for areas outside of Central Virginia. Don't hesitate...we may be more affordable than you think! As handbell music is always in high demand at the holidays, we book quickly in the month of December, so don't delay!
Our workshops are generally all day events with different sessions for new and experienced ringers. Novice players will learn the basic ringing stroke, damping skills, techniques (shake, pluck, mart, ring touch, thumb damp, table echo, shakes, etc.), use of mallets and simple rhythms. Advanced ringers will have the opportunity to improve skills such as Shelly, 4-in-hand, weaving and multiple bell handling along with learning tips for rapid ringing, mastering tricky rhythms and ringing with musicality.
"The conductor must breathe life into the score. It is you and you alone who must expose it to the understanding, reveal the hidden jewel to the sun at the most flattering angles." -Charles Munch
